Fizzbunt Latchkey is one of Brightcrawl's most promising young engineers, though you'd never guess it from the way she flinches at loud noises. She competes in the Patent Duel not for glory but to prove she can invent something meaningful without hurting anyone, a rare ambition in a city that treats explosions like polite greetings.
She speaks in anxious bursts punctuated by sudden flashes of clarity. "Wait wait wait, do not touch that gear. No no, not that one either. Actually, do not touch anything unless you want to smell like lemon fire for the next week."
