Fu Lan Chi
Listener of Patterns
A retired elf mystic who tends an ancient wind-shrine of stone and silence, where snow never gathers and voices soften of their own accord. He does not hunt spirits or command them; he listens for their patterns. He rarely gives a straight answer, but to those who bring him connections rather than questions, he explains why the winter stirs.
Description
Fu Lan Chi sits near a low stone brazier that burns without smoke and does not rise to greet visitors. The shrine around him is a place of stillness, where the wind flows around the walls rather than through them and sound dampens as you approach. He is a listener of patterns, not a quest giver, and he answers connections more readily than direct demands.
He will tell those who earn his trust that winter spirits do not wake without being touched, that this presence is persistent rather than angry, and that where the wind grows too still, something can take shape. He points, gently and never plainly, toward silence and rhythm as the keys to understanding what walks the ridge. He will not leave his sanctuary to confront the threat, but he will help the party learn to read it.
