Leech
Wandering Merchant with Secrets
A wandering trader riding out the Vigil at Frostglen Rest, watching the room more than he sells to it. He keeps his pack close, mixes truth and lies freely, and is quick to steer curiosity toward the elf mystic in the caves and away from himself. Ask about crates or the Timberway and his easy humor turns brittle.
Description
Leech chose the taproom table with the best view of both the stairs and the door, and he keeps his travel-worn pack within arm's reach at all times. He is affable in a rehearsed way, trading rumors like coin: the Wraith mimics the voices of people you know, crates go missing on every road, the elf in the caves knows more than any innkeeper. He watches your reactions more than he answers your questions.
Press him on his pack and he tightens the straps and insists there is nothing valuable inside. Press him on the old Timberway and, for just a moment, his confidence cracks, that place brings nothing good, best to let it rot. He is afraid of something, and far more interested in learning what you have discovered than in helping you discover it.
