Niraen Vell-Soris is a Loreborne Elf well past two hundred years old, an annotator-of-debates who haunts the shifting marble of Aurenhold's Whispering Steps. She speaks in long pauses and old rhetorical forms that newcomers may not recognize as answers at all.

She was Vessa's mentor twenty years ago, and she remembers things Vessa later cited. The party can reach her only during a scheduled debate at the amphitheater, and even then she will speak only obliquely.
