Scope & Importance
State Major
Event Type
Political Change
A prolonged internal and external conflict over whether destabilizing survey data should be published, restricted, or deliberately delayed.

As industrial resonance use expanded across Velthuryn, Aurexian instruments began detecting discrepancies that other states preferred not to acknowledge: drifting borders, unstable foundations, and projected failures years before they would become visible.

Pressure mounted on Aurex to withhold or revise certain survey results. Within the Bastion, disagreement fractured along ethical rather than political lines. Some argued that unfiltered data would provoke panic or conflict. Others maintained that suppression would make Aurex complicit in future disasters.

The Prism Dispute did not culminate in violence, but in divergence. Competing datasets circulated, some official, others quietly leaked. Trust in single authoritative charts eroded, replaced by layered disclosures and confidence ratings.

The dispute permanently altered Aurexian governance, establishing the precedent that knowledge itself could be a site of conflict, not just a tool for resolving it.
